Hi! My name is Samantha, I am a Women's Health Coach, professional guide, and Red Cross first aid instructor. My friends call me Sam. I live in Dorset, Ontario with my husband Scott, our dog Sasha and our backyard chickens close to Algonquin. We are both volunteer firefighters for Algonquin Highlands Township. It was my dream to live close to the forest and nature. It took planning, patience, and persistance, but today I am living my dream and my best life.
Growing up I was bullied; I wore a lot of hand-me-down clothing, glasses and had out of control acne. I even tried taking medication to control it, but nothing worked until I got older and figured out my nutrition. I felt most comfortable by myself or in small groups out in nature. I camped with girl guides and later sea cadets. I got to go sailing, paddling, and exploring. My favorite place was exploring the woods behind my Aunts farm. This is where I found my confidence and grew into who I am.
I have no living grandparents, they all passed away from lifestyle diseases. Cancer, heart disease, and diabetes took them all but one before they were 70. I want to live to be 100. They have motivated me to learn about and take control of my own health.
Through my life I've worn every pant size. I've gained weight, lost weight, let it all go, and worked to get fit. Energy levels and feeling confident in my clothes have been what I've struggled the most with. I have 10 years experience working in the outdoor recreation/education industry working mostly with youth and took notice that physical health and fitness are the major barrier to enjoying the outdoors and feeling confidant.
I've experimented with food and I've figured out what gives me the most energy and was quite surprised by it. I now feel the best I ever have and wear a smaller size than I did in high school! I was tired of being tired and carrying around an extra 15 pounds. I believe working together we can get you there too, without starving or being deprived! We all have an ideal weight and an image of ourselves we would like to see in the mirror.

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
